Liza Gergenti stopped six shots for Hamilton, which scored all three goals against starting goalie Kelley Murphy (one save). Rori Stark made three saves in the second half for the Red Dragons (9-4-1), who avoided the shutout when Ceschini scored with 2:37 left.
O-State, which finished with a 20-16 advantage in shots, host SUNYAC rival New Paltz on Saturday.
O-State player honored
Oneonta State junior midfielder Karly DeSimone earned Offensive Player of the Week honors from the SUNYAC on Wednesday.
DeSimone had three goals last week to lead the Red Dragons to three victories, including two in the SUNYAC.

Junior midfielder Dakota Hanley (Franklin) scored the first of her two goals in the first minute to lead SUNYIT (7-7, 6-3) to a North Eastern Athletic Conference triumph on the road.
Veronica Metz made four saves for the shutout, which sent the Fighting Tigers (3-10, 3-7) to their third straight loss.
Cobleskill is off until Tuesday, when it hosts Sage College for a non-league game.

Oneonta State blew a 2-0 lead with six minutes left in a non-league loss at home.
Ashley Morgan scored off the opening draw, converting a reverse-stick shot for a 1-0 lead 17 seconds in.
The Red Dragons (7-5) made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute, when Ashley Johnson dribbled into the circle en route to her sixth goal of the season.
