Logan Mancuso and Erin Mushtare earned all-conference honors to lead Oneonta High’s boys and girls in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday at Pheasant Hill Country Club in Owego.
Mancuso’s 30th-place finish helped the Yellowjackets’ boys to a 10th-place showing in the 16-team meet. He finished the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 21 seconds. Ithaca’s Dan Dracup won in 16:45.
Sam Baskin and Ryan Layman finished 44th and 45th, respectively. Baskin finished in 18:49 – 3 seconds ahead of Layman.
“The top three had some of their best performances and ran very well,” OHS coach Dan Forbes said.
Mushtare finished 26th in 21:48, helping Oneonta place 11th out of 14 teams.
Jamie Keown contributed a 56th-place finish and freshman Nika Ficano was 71st. They finished in 22:54 and 23:27, respectively.
Oneonta will compete in sectionals Thursday at Chenango Valley State Park. The girls race starts at 11:20 a.m. and boys will commence at 12:10 p.m.
Katie Aikens won the girls race at the Midstate Athletic Conference Championships, helping Delhi to 28 points for the team title.
Aikens won in 21:07.9 for the Bulldogs, who received a fourth from Bethany Davis (23:00.3) and a fifth from Katherine Erickson (23:18.6) en route to a 21-point vicgtory over runner-up Afton.
Edmeston’s Madison Kline finished second in 21:22.8, followed by Afton’s Daphne Knapp (22:17.4).
Will Villano’s 17:43.3 led a 1-2-3 sweep for Harpursville’s boys, who cruised to the team crown with 25 points. Teammates Mike Lake (17:55.4) and Jack Hillenbrand (17:58.1) followed.
Shane Harrington placed fourth in 18:05.3 for an incomplete squad representing Gilbertsville-Mount Upton/Morris. Afton’s Aaron Welch rounded out the top five, in 18:08.4.

Kody Homann scored six times and threw a touchdown pass as Unadilla Valley rolled to a season-ending victory at home Friday in the Section Four Football Conference.
Homann opened the scoring on a 27-yard touchdown pass from Kurt Haycook less than 3 minutes into the non-conference game. The two reversed roles about 2 minutes later, when Homann hit Haycook for a 55-yard TD pass.
Homann closed the first-quarter scoring with a 23-yard interception return for a TD and a two-point conversion run, giving the Storm a 22-0 lead with 3:48 left in the period.
Homann also scored on runs of 5 and 55 yards, and receptions of 15 and 6 yards. He finished with 93 rushing yards on 11 carries and 60 receiving yards on four catches.
Haycook passed for 120 yards and two touchdowns, completing 4 of 10 throws.
Justin Hofer went 2-for-4 for 21 passing yards, but both of his completions resulted in touchdowns. He added a 52-yard TD catch and finished with 81 yards on two receptions.
The Storm finished the season 4-5, including a forfeit victory over Deposit/Hancock in Week One.
Walton 42, B-G 29
Mike Beers rushed for 175 yards and four touchdowns on 33 carries Friday night as visiting Walton won a Section Four Football Conference non-division game in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Beers opened the scoring with a 2-yard run in the first quarter, which ended with the Warriors ahead, 8-0.
The Bobcats battled back with consecutive touchdowns for their only lead as Tyler Ouimet scored on a 56-yard pass from Corbin Palmer and Jake Mazzarella followed with an 8-yard TD run.
Walton scored the next four touchdowns, including a 2-yard run by Trevor Spencer and another 2-yarder by Beers before the end of the first half.
Beers followed with back-to-back 1-yard TD runs, giving Walton (4-5) a 36-13 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Mazzarella scored twice on short runs in the fourth quarter and finished with 106 yards on 14 carries for B-G (5-4), which got 113 passing yards from Palmer.
