Oneonta State scored the last four goals Wednesday, earning a 16-13 non-conference women’s lacrosse victory over visiting Hamilton College.
Caroline Tulley and Kiera McNally scored four goals apiece for the Red Dragons (4-1), who knocked off the 11th-ranked NCAA Division III team.
Tulley also had two assists for O-State. She leads the Red Dragons this season with 21 goals and 10 assists.
Hamilton (3-1) jumped to a 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes before Oneonta scored three straight. After the Continentals’ Lauren Brady tied it at 3, the Red Dragons scored four in a row for a 7-3 lead with a little more than nine minutes left in the first half.
Hamilton followed with a 5-1 run, tying the score at 8 with 3:07 left before the break. The teams went into halftime tied at 9.
Chelsea Collins contributed three assists and a goal for Oneonta, which got six saves from goalie Laura Grose. Counterpart Kari Koga made 10 saves for the Continentals.
O-State will visit No. 17 St. John Fisher at 2 p.m. Saturday for a non-conference game. The Red Dragons will leave Sunday for Florida, where they will play games Monday and Wednesday.
Ithaca 14, O-State 4
Connor Coyle had three goals and an assist for visiting Oneonta State, which gave up eight goals in the fourth quarter of a non-conference loss.
Taylor Kalbacher also scored for the Red Dragons (1-5), who visit Marywood University on Monday.
The Bombers (5-0) scored 11 times on O-State starting goalie Chris Miles, who made 13 saves.
NCAA D-III Meet
Two Hartwick College swimmers earned All-American honorable mentions during the opening day of the NCAA Division III Championships at the Conroe Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas.
Kenny Kleso earned the Hawks’ best finish, placing ninth in the 500-yard freestyle in 4 minutes, 29.57 seconds. The time marked a Hartwick record and was good for an All-American honorable mention.
