Imagine Mars is a national arts, sciences and technology education initiative sponsored by NASA and the National Endowment for the Arts that leads students to work together with scientists, engineers, artists and civic leaders to design and share a futuristic Mars community.

At the Hall workshop, students will work to create a baseball experience on Mars – factoring in the extreme Martian environment and the physical aspects of the red planet while imagining what life may be like on it.

Working with NASA educators, scientists and Hall staff, students will be asked to create uniforms, stadiums, marketing, concessions and new baseball rules. Within each category, students will work together to devise a way that baseball can be played on Mars.

Cost of the workshop is $10 per student, which includes materials, supplies and lunch and beverages provided by Price Chopper. The first 50 students to register will be accepted. A parent or guardian must be present to register and pick up the student April 27. Parents are welcome to attend the Imagine Mars Project Showcase from 3-5 p.m.

For more information or to register, call 607-547-0313.
