Hartwick men rout Nazareth; Delhi wins two on road

Harrisburg 72, Cobleskill 65

Kady Porterfield scored her college high of 23 points, but host SUNY Cobleskill lost Saturday in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.

Porterfield, a sophomore, also had six rebounds, and classmate Samantha Davis had her college highs of 15 points and nine rebounds for the Fighting Tigers (4-10, 3-5), who tied the score at 62 before Harrisburg (10-5, 6-2) went on a 5-0 run.

Senior Heidi Anderson finished with 16 points for Cobleskill.

Delhi wins twice

Gilbertsville-Mount Upton graduate Tanya Barnes had 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists to lead SUNY Delhi to a 61-55 win at Schenectady Community College on Sunday.

Cassie Beaver had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Yaya Soto contributed 10 points for the Broncos (11-9), who will play at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Albany College of Pharmacy.

On Saturday, Soto scored 18 points went 6-for-6 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal a 60-49 win at North Country CC.

Jackie Bailey had 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Barnes contributed 12 points.

INDOOR TRACK

NYU Team Challenge

Sean Bernstein and J.D. Roth won events to lead Oneonta State in the New York University Team Challenge on Saturday at the Armory in New York City.

Bernstein, who won an NCAA Division III outdoor title in the 200 meters last spring, won the 200 in 21.84 seconds.

Roth broke his school record in the 35-pound weight throw with a winning distance of 54 feet, 7 1/8 inches.

Nate Weber contributed a second-place finish in the 1,000, crossing in 2:34.24.

On the women’s side, senior Kate Parsons (20-pound weight throw), junior Danielle Kennedy (3,000) and freshman Alicia Switser (pole vault) all had fifth-place finishes.

O-State will compete in the Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Friday and Saturday.

Wesleyan Invitational

Freshman Makhtar Barros won the triple jump, covering 42 feet, 9 inches as SUNY Cobleskill opened its season at the Wesleyan Invitational.
