The Hawks face a must-win at home on Friday against Ithaca College to have any chance of securing the top seed and right to host the upcoming Empire 8 playoffs. The Bombers have one conference loss.

Utica (11-11) improved to 7-5 in conference.

Cortland 58, O-State 44

Oneonta High graduate Erin Wolstenholme had five points, six rebounds and three assists in 14 minutes to help host Cortland to a SUNY Athletic Conference victory.

Megan Touhey and Caysea Cohen contributed 17 and 12 points, respectively, for Cortland (10-10, 8-6).

Kristin Pappalardo and Grace Schilling had 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Oneonta State (10-11, 7-7), which shot 14-for-50 from the field and had 21 turnovers.

O-State will host Fredonia at 6 p.m. Friday.

Mohawk Valley 61, Delhi 39

Jackie Bailey scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace host SUNY Delhi, which lost a Mountain Valley Conference game to the third-ranked NJCAA Division III team in the nation.

The Broncos were down, 25-21, at halftime, but Mohawk Valley (20-1) increased its lead to 14 points seven minutes into the second half.

Shanice Brown’s 16 points paced MVCC.

Delhi (12-13) will visit Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday.
