O-State softball splits on road

The Fighting Tigers will play a doubleheader at Southern Vermont College beginning at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Oneonta State completed its spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C., with a loss to Erskine College on Thursday.

The Red Dragons went 2-2 in Hilton Head to move to 3-9 this season. Their next match is April 5 at Wheaton College.

Franklin 9, Hartwick 0

Peter Dumas and Liam Brown forced tiebreakers in their respective singles matches to highlight Hartwick’s efforts in a Friday loss to Franklin College that closed the Hawks’ spring trip to Hilton Head, S.C.

Dumas dropped his first-singles match against Blake Wareham, 4-6, 6-3, 10-4. Brown fell short of his first college win as Robby Woehrle won their match at fourth singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.

Hartwick opens Empire 8 Conference play April 6 at Nazareth.
