Miller won the 400-yard individual medley in 4 minutes, 7.81 seconds, breaking the conference record of 4:08.00 set in 1998. The time also met the NCAA B cut qualifying standard.
Miller successfully defended his 100 backstroke as well. His winning time of 50.90 broke his conference record of 51.37 set last season. That also was an NCAA B qualifying time.
Sophomore Colton Roe was second in the 100 back. This morning in the prelims, he broke Miller’s conference record with a time of 51.28. He swam a time of 51.24 in the finals, which is also an NCAA B cut time.
Both swam on the 200-yard medley and 800-yard freestyle relays. The 200 medley foursome finished third and the 800 foursome finished second. Oneonta was the defending champion in the 800 relay.
Miller and Roe will swim Saturday in the 200-yard backstroke. Ryan Walsh will try to win his third 3rd straight 200-yard butterfly title.
The men are third in the team standings.
O-State’s women are fifth in the team standings.
Sophomore Carly Cahill set a school record in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:57.52 in finishing 11th. Cahill was also part of the 200 medley and 800 free relay that set school records as well.
Senior Kaitlin Thorp set a school record in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.98 in finishing 14th.
