Miller’s victories and conference records came in the 100 and 200 backstrokes and the 400 individual medley, all good for first-team SUNYAC honors.

Second-teamers from O-State were Jermaine Miller, Ryan Walsh, Colton Roe, Kelly Ruf, Joseph Galan and Lauren Zentko.

Jermaine Miller will compete this weekend at the NCAA Region III Diving Championships as he attempts to qualify and return to the NCAA D-III Championship Meet.

O-State men sweep

Oneonta State’s Matt LoPiccolo earned the Men’s Coach of the Year award from the SUNY Athletic Conference, which honored senior Sean Bernstein and freshman Joe Fox as its outstanding track and field athletes of the conference championship meet, respectively.

Bernstein earned first-place finishes in the 60-meter dash (meet record 6.82 seconds), the 200 (21.86) and as part of the 1,600 relay team (3:23.19).

Fox won the SUNYAC shot put title with a distance of 50 feet, 9.25 inches. Fox also was third in the 35-pound weight throw, with a personal-best 53-8.5.

O-State women All-SUNYAC

Oneonta State senior Kacy Boburka and junior Danielle Kennedy earned First Team All-SUNY Athletic Conference honors after winning individual titles last Saturday at the conference championships.

Boburka won her title in the high jump (5-4.25). Kennedy won the 3,000-meter run in a school- and facility-record time of 10:19.43.

Oneonta’s women will compete this weekend at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships at the Armory in New York City.

Cobleskill runner honored

SUNY Cobleskill selected Marten Peterson as its athlete of the week, after the senior middle-distance runner met the ECAC D-III qualifying standard in the 800 during the New York State College Track Conference Championships last weekend. Peterson placed second in 1:56.06 to establish a program record and earn All-North Eastern Athletic Conference honors.
