OHS suffers through painful weekend


Jacob Russell finished in 44th place in 18:38. Connor Fay placed 62nd in 19:17.

Other Cooperstown runners were Kenneth Roberts (90, 21:25), Johnny Zhang (92, 21:39), Joe Peterson (97, 22:16), and Hunter Ducey (99, 24:02).

Cooperstown will travel to Holland Patent on Wednesday.

Greenman Invitational

Logan Mancuso placed eighth on a 2.85-mile course in 16 minutes, 54 seconds to lead Oneonta High’s boys to a third-place finish in the Loyal Greenman Invitational at Ely Park in Binghamton.

Sam Baskin finished in 11th place in 17:02 and Luke Anderson placed 30th in 18:20.

Also running for OHS were Matt Longo (35th place, 18:33), Ryan Layman (37, 18:35), Erik Minerosa (52, 19:16) and Alex Kahl (75, 27:53).

Jamie Keown placed 17th in 21:32 to lead the Oneonta girls to a fifth-place finish.

Melissa Emilio finished 14 seconds later and placed 18th. Eliana Fox crossed in 24:32 and placed 46th, Amelia French finished in 25:03 and placed 51th, Nika Ficano finished in 26:48 and placed 54th and Rory Decker finished in 31:26 and placed 57th. 

Natalie Hawkes of Chenango Valley won the race in 19:54.

Oneonta will compete in the STAC Championships at Owego on Oct. 26.
