NYCBL to expand in 2014
Two new organizations will join the New York Collegiate Baseball League for the 2014 season, the league announced late Sunday night.
The Cortland Crush and the Genesee Rapids will turn the NYCBL into a 13-team league this summer, making it necessary to return to divisional play. Eleven teams competed for one regular-season title in 2013.
Cortland will play home games at Beaudry Field. Genesee will host games at the new Kerr-Pegula Complex on the campus of Houghton College.
The NYCBL is home to the Oneonta Outlaws, who are the reigning postseason champions of the wood-bat league for college baseball players. The Outlaws play their home games at Damaschke Field.
