Edmeston 3, G-MU 0

Kelsey Bressett scored two goals to lead visiting Edmeston to a Tri-Valley League victory Friday.

Bressett opened the scoring 12 minutes into play after converting a cross from Danielle Ruffles. Ruffles then scored on a 20-yard shot with 20 minutes left in the second half to make it 2-0. 

Katie Schultes made 12 saves for Gilbertsville-Mount Upton. 

Edmeston (4-9-1, 3-8-1) will host Franklin today for its Senior Appreciation game.

FIELD HOCKEY

Sidney 3, Walton 0

Hannah Wood scored twice as visiting Sidney improved to 10-3 with a Section Four Conference victory.

Wood opened the scoring with 13 minutes left in the first half on a penalty corner. Nine minutes later, Nicole Smith scored to make it 2-0.

Wood’s second goal came with four minutes left as Sidney ran its league record to 9-1. Sidney will travel to Marathon today.

Walton received nine saves from Emily Bartlett and three from Sam Bowker. Walton ends its season at 3-12 overall and 2-8 in league play.
