The Bobcats finished the season 9-8.

Cooperstown 2, Waterville 0

Lyman Townsend and Steven Serafen each had first-half goals to lead seventh-seeded Cooperstown to a Section Three Class C first-round victory at home.

Townsend opened the scoring four minutes into play on an 18-yard shot after receiving a pass from Park Summers on the left side.

Serafen made it 2-0 24 minutes later after converting a pass from Max Clinton. Serafen redirected the ball into the goal from 6 yards.

“We played very well tonight after having a week off,” Cooperstown coach Frank Miosek said. “We’re doing a lot off things that we’re practicing.”

Cooperstown (9-6-1) will play at second-seeded Hamilton in a sectional quarterfinal Friday. Hamilton edged Cooperstown in their last two meetings, 1-0 and 2-1.
