Patriots reach Class D final

(Continued)

No. 2 seed CV-S (14-2-1) will play Milford in the Section Four Class D finals at the Wright National Soccer Campus on Saturday.

“It has been a long time for us,” she said. “I think the last time we went that far you would have to go back to the 1990 team coached by (current Cooperstown boys soccer coach) Frank Miosek. It is a brand new thing for this team.”

The Wildcats beat the Patriots twice this season, winning, 4-2, in Cherry Valley on Sept. 13 and 1-0 in Milford on Oct. 14. But Garretson said she isn’t ready to think about a third game between the two Tri-Valley East rivals.

“We’re not even thinking about that now,” she said. “We’re going to enjoy this win. When we get to practice tomorrow, we’ll start thinking about Milford.”

South Kortright, which tied Davenport for the Delaware League title, finishes with a record of 14-3-1.
