OCC to host centennial events
The Oneonta Country Club will continue celebrating its centennial with the following events this weekend.
The OCC will host its Centennial Cocktail Party and Open House from 6:30-9 p.m. Friday.
The OCC’s Centennial Golf Tournament will follow Saturday afternoon. Cost is $50 per person for the tournament, which is a four-person scramble. First prize is $500, second is $250, and third is $100. To sign up, call the pro shop at 607-432-8950, ext. 2 by midweek.
Also Saturday, the OCC will hold its Centennial Dinner Dance, with a cocktail hour at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are required and may be made by calling the Roundhouse Pub & Grill at 607-432-3840 by today.
CV-S awards night Friday
Cherry Valley-Springfield will hold its annual athletic awards night at 6 p.m. Friday in the school auditorium.
During the ceremony, the Cherry Valley-Springfield Athletic Hall of Fame will induct its Class of 2013, which features athletes Tim Dubben (Class of 1991) and Hillary Nelson (1995); coach Tom Brigham; and contributor Colleen Sheldon.
This year’s winner of the Team of Distinction is the 1996 Section Four Class D champion girls track and field team.

MX Rewind starts Friday
Unadilla Motocross in New Berlin will host the second MX Rewind weekend from Friday through Sunday.
MX Rewind will feature vintage and post-vintage cross country and motocross racing, appearances by motocross legends, a swap meet and bike shows, among other events.

Milford Cat Classic 5K is Saturday
The Milford Booster Club will host the Cat Classic 5K Run and Walk on Saturday.
Registration runs from 9-10 a.m. in the Milford Central parking lot. The race starts at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Milford Central driveway on 42 West Main St. and ends on the track finish line.
Cost to pre-register (by Thursday) is $15 per person or $45 per family. Registration on race day is $20 per person. No family rate is available on race day.

Golf events to benefit soccer club
The Headwaters Soccer Club will hold two charity golf tournaments to benefit its summer soccer camp program.

Registration forms for Oneonta’s fall recreational soccer program have been distributed through the Oneonta elementary schools.

Bass tourney schedule set
The Susquehanna Bass Association will open its season with the Kirns Body Shop Open, which will run from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday on Canadarago Lake.
The SBA also will host the Neptune Diner Open on Cayuga Lake on June 30. The club will fish a 10-tournament schedule. Anglers of the Year will be announced at the end of the season.

Club’s Ox Roast is Sunday
The Gilbertsville Rod & Gun Club at 158 Gun Club Rd. will hold its annual Father’s Day Ox Roast on Sunday.
Serving starts at noon. Adults cost $12.50, children ages 6-12 cost $6, and children ages 5-and-under are free.
The event also will feature horseshoes, a beer garden (opens at noon), an all-day trap shoot and 3D bow shoot (7 a.m. start), and entertainment by the Lum Brothers Country Band.

Registration open for adult soccer
The Latte Lounge Oneonta Adult Summer Soccer League is securing teams and players.
The league will begin play in mid-June and run until early August. There will be men’s and women’s divisions for ages 17 and up.

Lacrosse league starts June 19
Lacrosse Oneonta’s summer league will run Monday and Wednesday nights from June 19-Aug. 14 at the 6th Ward Booster Club Park across from the Oneonta Boys and Girls Club.
Tentative times are 5:30 p.m. for the Instructional League and 6:30-8:30 p.m. for the Adult Competitive League.
Sign-ups are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. June 11 and 13. Proof of USLacrosse membership is required.
Fees include $25-50 for a mandatory USLacrosse Membership and $45 to join Lacrosse Oneonta. The latter includes a reversible jersey. Players may apply for or renew USLacrosse memberships at the website www.uslacrosse.org.
The league furnishes goals, balls and the field. Participants will need a stick, a helmet, shoulder pads, arm guards, gloves and a mouthpiece.
