Former champion Josh Creamer and current points leader Chad Wienen will return to the Unadilla Valley Sports Center in New Berlin this weekend to compete in the ATV Motocross National Championship Series.
The UVSC will host the eighth round of the AMA-sanctioned 10-race series Saturday and Sunday.
Creamer won the ATVMX National Championship in 2010 but is still seeking his first victory of the season after returning to the series this year. Wienen earned his fifth consecutive overall victory in Round 7.
“It’s really getting to be do-or-die time at this point in the series,” Unadilla’s Greg Robinson said in a media release from Unadilla Motorsports earlier this week. “Not only are there a contingent of racers looking to stop Chad Wienen in his tracks, but they are also out to score every point they can to advance their series’ standing. If asked to pick who will win, I would have to list all of the current top six points’ holders -- Chad Wienen, Thomas Brown, Josh Creamer, John Natalie, Joel Hetrick, and Josh Upperman. It really is anyone’s race at this point.”
Pro qualifying starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, with the first pro moto scheduled for 1:30 p.m. At 4 p.m., pro racers will hold autograph sessions in their respective pit areas.
Tickets for Saturday’s pro races are available at the gate and cost $20 for adults and $10 for ages 6-11. Admission includes full pro-pit access and an autograph session.
Amateur racing for close to 40 classes will begin Saturday morning and continue throughout the day. Amateur racing concludes Sunday.
