Oneonta falls to Endicott in nine

David Wright threw seven solid innings and Ben Moxley had three hits, but Oneonta's Legion baseball team fell, 4-3, in nine innings Tuesday in a District Six game to visiting Endicott.

Wright allowed three runs on five hits. He struck out seven and walked two.

“He pretty much dominated every inning except the fourth and seventh,” Oneonta coach Mike Jester said of Wright. “Every other inning, he retired the side in order. They didn't really hit him hard.”

Endicott, which is 12-0 in District Six play, scored the winning run in the ninth off of losing pitcher Kragh Delello on an RBI double by Dylan Nardocci.

Oneonta (18-15, 8-3) had runners had runners on first and second in the bottom of the ninth, but Wright lined out to second to end it.

The Green Wave forced extra innings by scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh. Connor Tavarone and Moxley singled to start the inning. Wright then hit an RBI double to right-center to score Tavarone, and Moxley came around to score the tying run on an errant relay throw.
