Wilson, Konchar win SBA event
Steve Wilson and Anthony Konchar won the Susquehanna Bass Association’s Gozigian, Washburn, Clinton Law Firm Bass Tournament on Sunday at Otsego Lake.
Wilson and Konchar won with a five-fish limit of 13.35 pounds. Wilson also caught the lunker of the day, a 19-inch largemouth that weighed 3.49 pounds.
Bruce Hall and Vince Fink placed second at 12.93 pounds. Allan and Peter Green were next at 12.84, followed by Kyle Patrick and Nick Wigglesworth at 12.55. Smallmouth of the day went to Wigglesworth (19 inches and 3.05 pounds).
The next event – the Tri-County Communications Open – will run from 6 a.m.-2 p.m. July 28 at Oneida Lake.

Sidney to host road race July 27
The Cullman Community Days 5K Race/Walk will begin at 9 a.m. July 27 at Keith Clark Park in Sidney.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. July 27 at Keith Clark Park. The entry fee is $10, which includes snacks and water at the finish line, along with awards for overall winners and age-group winners.
Proceeds from the race will go to the Sidney High School Varsity Letters Club.

Clay target tourney is Saturday
The annual Shoot for Scouts Clay Target Tournament to benefit the programs of the Otschodela Council Boy Scouts will be held Saturday at the Oneonta Sportsman Club at 251 Rod and Gun Club Rd. in Oneonta.

Adult kickball event set for Saturday
The Oneonta Boys and Girls Club will host an adult kickball/barbecue fundraiser beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at the 6th Ward Booster Club.
Cost is $30 per player and includes barbecue and games. Proceeds will benefit the OBGC.
Players must be at least age 20. Rosters must have nine to 11 players and include at least two females. The total age per roster must be a minimum of 275 years.

The SUNY Oneonta athletics department will hold its third annual Coaches Golf Classic on Saturday at the Oneonta Country Club.
Entry fee for the captain-and-crew event is $100 per golfer.
Prizes will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place foursomes in both flights, as well as for longest drive and closest to the pin.

The Oneonta State women’s basketball team will host a developmental overnight/commuter camp for girls ages 10-18 from July 21-24.
Team members will serve as counselor’s for the camp, which is designed to develop fundamentals.
Daily activities include 1-on-1 and 3-on-3 instruction, fundamental stations, and games.

The 17th annual Eastman Associates Munchkin All-Sport Camp will run from July 29-Aug. 1 at Oneonta State.

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown will host the second annual BASE Race on Aug. 11.
The event features a competitive 10-kilometer race at 8 a.m. and a family-style 5K run at 8:15 a.m. Both events start and finish at the CSC.
Registration is $25 for adults and $50 for families until race day, when registration will be $40 for individuals and $65 for families.
Proceeds support outreach for the “Be A Superior Example” program, which promotes the concepts of healthy lifestyle choices by educating students about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances.

National Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Rollie Fingers will serve as celebrity host for the 31st annual Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open and Pro-Am Golf Tournament, which runs Sept. 3-6 at the Leatherstocking Golf Course in Cooperstown.
Fingers, a 1992 Hall inductee with 341 career saves, will participate in the Sept. 3 Pro-Am, which begins with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Fingers also will speak at the fundraiser dinner later that day.
Proceeds from the Pro-Am will benefit Pathfinder Village, a residential community in Edmeston dedicated to children and adults with Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities. Proceeds also will benefit the Hall’s educational programs.
