Winning pitcher Aidan Cohane struck out six over four scoreless innings and Zach Meyer had two hits to lead Windham to a Delaware League victory in the season-opener for both teams.

The game was played at South Kortright, but Windham played as the home because its field is not ready.

Meyer tripled and Aiden Cohane doubled for Windham.

Chris Zaionz had a triple for South Kortright, which will travel to Delhi on Wednesday.

Jefferson 9, Margaretville 8

Cooper Reither hit an RBI single and later scored on a throwing error to pull visiting Margaretville within a run in the seventh inning, but John Quagliano struck out the final batter to end Jefferson’s Delaware League victory.

Winning pitcher Jimmy Reeves hit a two-run single during Jefferson four-run fifth inning that ended with J-Hawks ahead, 9-5.

Nick Smith went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs for Jefferson, which will travel to Worcester today.

Reither finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs for Margaretville.
