Outlaws rained out again

Sure, the Oneonta Outlaws are off to a 4-0 start to their New York Collegiate Baseball League season, but they’re barely above .500 against the weather.

For the third time in seven scheduled games, the Outlaws were rained out Monday. They’re also 0-for-2 against the Cortland Crush.

Oneonta and Cortland were supposed to play a doubleheader Monday at Cortland to make up for a rainout last Tuesday.

Now, they’ll play doubleheaders at Cortland on Thursday and June 19. In both instances, the first games will start at 5 p.m.

The NYCBL announced Monday that the Outlaws’ Ben Mauseth was named its Hitter of the Week. In four games last week, Mauseth amassed a league-leading 10 RBIs. The switch-hitting shortstop also has a .444 batting average, one home run and six stolen bases.

Mauseth has hit safely in all four of Oneonta’s games.

The Outlaws have an off day today before hosting the Sherrill Silversmiths at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
