Sign-ups set for baseball league

Oneonta Little League will run a summer baseball league for youths ages 8-11.

Players or parents interested can sign up this week from 5:30-7 p.m. at Doc Knapp Field during the major league playoffs, which run through Monday or Tuesday.

Registration forms are available at the concession stand.

Swimming program starts

The Oneonta municipal synchronized swim team invites children to try its new program at the Wilber Park pool this summer.

The synchronized swim program is free to Oneonta City residents and costs $10 for non-residents.

Practices will run from 11 a.m.-noon Mondays and Fridays from July 7-Aug. 14.

Golf tournament to be held July 19

The Oneonta State athletics department will hold its fourth annual Coaches Golf Classic on July 19 at the Oneonta Country Club.

The captain-and-crew tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. A buffet will be served following the event.

Cost is $100 per golfer. Proceeds will provide financial support to cover program expenses such as academic services, life-skills development, team travel and operational costs.

OLL to offer Yankees trips

Oneonta Little League will offer two bus trips to Yankee Stadium this year, starting with New York’s July 19 home game against the Cincinnati Reds.

The OLL also will offer a trip to see the Yankees host the Cleveland Indians on Aug. 9.

Cost is $70 per person and includes bus transportation and one game ticket. To reserve a seat or for more information, email Terry Zimmer at

O-State to host lacrosse camp

Oneonta State will hold the High Octane Lacrosse Camp for boys ages 8-18 from July 23-26.

Cost is $400 for overnight camp and $300 for day camp.
