Three SUNY Delhi men were named to the Metro roster for the Junior College Elite Lacrosse Showcase, which will take place for the first time during Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Classic weekend from July 11-13 in Baltimore.
Broncos defender Dylan Bates joined midfielders James Kirk and Ray Maeng on the Metro roster. The Metro, North and South teams will play two games apiece July 11.
The North squad features an incoming SUNY Delhi freshman in Oneonta High senior attack Jeremy Leary, who is the son of Broncos coach Bob Leary.
Jeremy Leary earned Section Four First Team accolades for the Yellowjackets this past season and also played in the Section Four Exceptional Senior Game. He also received First Team Section Four honors at attack as a junior and made the Second Team as a sophomore midfielder.
The JUCO tryouts were open to men who were recent graduates or enrolled or entering a two-year junior college. Players were judged by a panel including coaching experts from their respective regions.

Oneonta State finished third in the SUNY Athletic Conference’s Dr. Patrick R. Damore Commissioner Cup standings for the second straight academic year, the Red Dragons announced last week.
The Commissioner Cup reflects the overall athletic standings for the SUNYAC’s 10 affiliates in 20 sports during the fall, winter and spring seasons. Oneonta State finished with an average of 7.56 points, its best performance since scoring 7.68 after the 2004-05 academic year.
Cortland won the overall championship at 8.18, followed by Geneseo at 7.68.
O-State finished at 6.42 last year. The increase this year is attributed to 18 Oneonta teams that finished in the top half of the conference, including three (women’s soccer, men’s outdoor track and softball) that won SUNYAC titles.
