Roller derby set for Sunday

The Oneonta Derailing Darlings will complete their roller derby season at 2 p.m. Sunday against the Dolls of Destruction out of Troy, Pa., at Interskate 88 in Oneonta.

Admission is $8 for general and $5 for students, senior citizens and children under 12.

Doors open at 1 p.m. Sunday. During the bout, refreshments and children’s activities will be available, along with gift certificates and other prizes that will be raffled off at halftime. Legends Filling Station will host a party following the bout.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Greater Oneonta Historical Society.

Tennis program opens Monday

The Oneonta Tennis Center will host the Wilber Park Summer Junior Tennis Program from 9 a.m.-noon weekdays starting Monday.

The program, which runs through July 25, is for players ages 6-18 and features 45-minute sessions on all of Wilber Park’s five tennis courts.

Registration costs $40 for Oneonta residents and $80 for non-residents. Proof of residency is required.

Advanced registration is preferred and should be mailed to the OTC at 32 Rose Ave. in Oneonta. Registrations also will be accepted at the beginning of each day for new participants.

A junior tennis tournament will follow from July 28-Aug. 1. The tournament is free for all program participants.

Outlaws 5K set for July 16

The Oneonta Family YMCA and the Oneonta Outlaws will host the YMCA/Outlaws 5K Fun Run on July 16.

The race will start at 5:50 p.m. outside of Damaschke Field in Neahwa Park. Bib pick up and registration will run from 4-5:30 p.m.

All timing will end at 6:40 p.m., just before the start of the Outlaws’ New York Collegiate Baseball League game against the Cortland Crush.
