Unadilla to host ATV nationals
Unadilla MX in New Berlin will host the seventh round of the AMA-sanctioned ATV Motocross National Championship on July 12.
Two-time defending AMA Pro ATV champion Chad Wienen will attempt to maintain his points lead during the Northeastern ATV National, which starts at 11 a.m. July 12 with practice and qualifying. Wienen has a series-best four victories this season and will bring a 46-point cushion into the July 12 event at Unadilla, where he has won the last two track titles. The seventh stop in the nine-round series also will feature challengers such as Joel Hetrick, John Natalie and Thomas Brown.
Opening ceremonies begin at 2:30 p.m. July 12, with two 15-minute ATV Pro motos to follow at 3 p.m.
The track also will host amateur racing starting at 9 a.m. July 13.
Tickets for ATV National Weekend may be purchased for July 10-13 ($40 for adults/$25 for youths ages 6-11); July 11-13 ($35/$25); July 12-13 ($30/$15); July 12 ($20/$10); or July 13 ($15/$10). Youths ages 5 and under will be admitted for free. All tickets include pit passes.

Cooperstown softball clinic set
The Cooperstown varsity softball team will host a one-day softball clinic for players ages 8-15 from 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday at the Clark Sports Center.
Registration starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Cost is $25. Checks should be made payable to the Cooperstown Sports Booster Club.

Wrestling camp starts Thursday
USA Olympian Ken Chertow will hold his Gold Medal Training Camp for wrestlers ages 6-18 from Thursday through July 13 at Oneonta State.
Chertow is a three-time NCAA All-American and a three-time NCAA Academic All-American from Penn State University. He has been coaching wrestling for more than 25 years.
