OLL raffle drawing July 20

Oneonta Little League will hold the drawing for its annual raffle benefit July 20 at Doc Knapp Field.

The drawing, originally scheduled for this Saturday, will take place during the Oneonta Little League Tournament 12U championship game, which starts at 4 p.m. July 20.

First prize is six tickets and limousine transportation to and from an the Aug. 2 baseball game between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. Second prize is two tickets and bus transportation to and from an Aug. 7 game between the Detroit Tigers and the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Third prize is an iPad mini.

Hall to host Authors Series

The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will host its annual Authors Series program this summer.

The program is included with regular admission. Baseball authors will appear in Cooperstown for special lectures and book signings in the Hall’s Bullpen Theater at 2 p.m. on the following dates:

Thursday: The Impossible Dream Season by Ray Sinibaldi.

July 17: The DiMaggios by Thomas Clavin.

July 26: 1954 by Bill Madden.

July 31: Brooks: The Biography by Doug Wilson.

Aug. 7: Roberto’s Return by Paul Ferrante.

Aug. 14: Down to the Last Pitch by Tim Wendel.

Aug. 21: Rally Caps, Rain Delays, and Racing Sausages by Eric Kabakoff.

Aug. 28: The Legend of Mickey Tussle and Sophomore Campaign by Frank Nappi.

Laurens baseball to hold raffle

The Laurens varsity baseball team will raffle off autographed memorabilia donated by Toronto Blue Jays manager John Gibbons to support the team’s trip to South Carolina next season.

Raffle items include a jersey signed by R.A. Dickey, bats signed by Jose Reyes and Jose Bautista, and baseballs autographed by Mike Trout, Albert Pujols, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Dickey, Reyes and Bautista.
