---- — Sidney to host road race Saturday

The Cullman Community Days 5K Race/Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Keith Clark Park in Sidney.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Keith Clark Park. Entry fee is $10, which includes snacks and water at the finish line, along with awards for overall winners and age-group winners.

Proceeds from the race will go to the Sidney High School Varsity Letters Club.

Archery league starts Monday

West End Archery is accepting sign-ups for its eight-week Fall Techno Hunt League, which starts Monday.

Sidney youth football sign-ups set

Sidney Youth Football will hold equipment handouts and sign-up nights from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Sidney Civic Center’s third floor, above the DMV.

Youths in grades K-6 may play. The organization also is offering flag football for youths in grades K-2.

Youths in grades 3-6 who already have registered must attend one of the nights for equipment handout.

Those who still need to register must bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate and registration fee ($45 for youth football; $30 for flag football).

All-sport camp starts Monday

The 17th annual Eastman Associates Munchkin All-Sport Camp will run from Monday through Aug. 1 at Oneonta State.

The O-State women’s soccer team will run the camp, which is designed for boys and girls ages 5-12. Activities include badminton, basketball, kickball, racquetball, soccer, T-ball, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

Cost is $60 per camper (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) or $90 per camper (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) and includes a T-shirt. Campers should wear athletic attire, including sneakers, and bring their own lunches.

Soccer club to host British camps

The Cooperstown Soccer Club and Challenger Sports will host British Soccer Camps from Monday through Aug. 2 at Cooperstown Elementary.

Each day includes individual foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages and a daily World Cup tournament. Campers receive a ball, a t-shirt and access to www.thechallengerway.com.

Youth football sign-ups Wednesday

Delhi Pee Wee Football sign-ups will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Clark Companies main office on Route 10, outside Delhi.

Entry fee is $25 per player and is due at sign-ups. All players must be at least age 8 on or before Dec. 1 and cannot be age 13 on or before Sept. 1.

Soccer camps end Aug. 5

The Headwaters Soccer Club will hold its final summer camp from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 5-9 at Oneonta State.

The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-17, including teams. Cost is $60 per camper. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a water bottle.

MX Weekend set for Aug. 9-11

Unadilla Motocross in New Berlin will host the Pro National MX Weekend from Aug. 9-11 at the Unadilla Valley Sports Center.

The UVSC also will host the Grand National Cross Country from Sept. 7-8.

Golf events to benefit soccer club

The Headwaters Soccer Club will hold the fifth annual Ouleout Creek Charity Golf Tournament at 1 p.m. Aug. 10 in Franklin.

Entry fee for the scramble tournament is $60 per person and includes greens fees, cart and buffet. First-, second- and third-place teams will receive awards. Golfers may register as teams or as individuals.

Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will benefit the HSC summer soccer camp program.

Buck Fever Night is Aug. 10

Whitetails Unlimited will sponsor the Oneonta Area Buck Fever Night on Aug. 10 at the Oneonta Elks Club at 84 Chestnut St. in Oneonta.

The event will feature a two-meat dinner, an auction and prizes. Proceeds will benefit local youth hunting programs such as 4H and Archery in the Schools.

The social hour begins at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 10, with dinner to follow at 6 p.m.

Tickets cost $35 each, $20 for a spouse and $15 for juniors ages 15 and younger. Deadline to order tickets is Aug. 3. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

BASE Race set for Aug. 11

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and the Clark Sports Center in Cooperstown will host the second annual BASE Race on Aug. 11.

The event features a competitive 10-kilometer race at 8 a.m. and a family-style 5K run at 8:15 a.m. Both events start and finish at the CSC.

Registration is $25 for adults and $50 for families until race day, when registration will be $40 for individuals and $65 for families.

Proceeds support outreach for the “Be A Superior Example” program, which promotes the concepts of healthy lifestyle choices by educating students about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances.

The Hall also will hold a pre-race gathering for runners Aug. 10. Details will be released later this spring.
