Jackets' baseball streak snapped by Owego

Winning pitcher George Clements scored twice and visiting Worcester drew 11 walks en route to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Ethan Johnson had two hits for Cherry Valley-Springfield (0-3), which will travel to Milford today.

Edmeston 4, Laurens 2

Nate Truax’s two-run single in the sixth inning snapped a 2-all tie as host Edmeston won in the Tri-Valley League.

Lucas Miller had two RBIs for the Panthers. He had a run-scoring single in the fourth and a bases-loaded walk in the fifth that tied the score at 2.

Mitchell Corrigan’s RBI double highlighted Laurens’ two-run fifth inning.

Edmeston starting pitcher Michael Clark struck out 14 over five innings.

“He was throwing mostly fastballs, but he had really good command of his curveball,” Edmeston coach Mike Clark said of his son.

Linton Wainright struck out three over the final two innings to get the victory.

Edmeston (3-0, 3-0) will host Cherry Valley-Springfield on Wednesday.

Mitchel Barra had 10 strikeouts for Laurens.

Morris 13, RS 8

Todd Randall hit a two-run double in the second inning as host Morris (3-2, 2-2) won in the Tri-Valley League.

“It was a total team effort” Morris coach Pat Harmer said of his squad, which had five hitters drive in runs.

Morris starter Josh Rutherford struck out eight over four innings. Reliever Andrew Dougherty had four strikeouts over the final three innings.

Morris (3-2, 2-2) will host Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Wednesday.

Luke VanRiper had two hits and two RBIs for Richfield Springs.
