Unatego's Barnhart no-hits Hornets

(Continued)

Collin Neer’s two-out bloop single to right in the fifth represented Oneonta’s lone hit.

“He had two pitches he could use at any time,” Hughes said.

Mike Wolstenholme was lone OHS runner to reach second base, that coming after Stone issued both of his walks in the third inning.

Stone also homered to left off of losing pitcher Noah Sheehan in the second inning to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead.

“Noah didn’t pitch too badly,” Hughes said.

Hughes added that Sheehan nearly pitched out of a jam in the fourth inning, but with the bases loaded and two out, Bob Dupniak dropped a bloop single into shallow right that scored two runs to make it 3-0.

“That kind of took the wind out of our sails,” Hughes said.

Oneonta (4-2, 2-2) will travel to Norwich on Tuesday.
