Sidney (6-1) will play in the Lew Bennett Tournament on Saturday at DeLutis Field in Rome. The Warriors will play Oneida at 10 a.m. before facing Rome Free Academy.

Afton 8, UV 7

Josh Austin hit a walkoff RBI single in the seventh inning, and winning pitcher Austin Ticknor struck out seven, walked three and homered to lead host Afton to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory.

Unadilla Valley received a homer from Dakota Kolvik in the fourth inning to take a 5-0 lead. Kolvik also tripled in his 3-for-4 day.

Afton scored three times in the fifth inning and took a 7-6 lead with four runs in the sixth.

Connor Graven-Briggs tripled in the sixth inning and the Crimson Knights took the lead on Ticknor’s two-run homer.

The Storm tied the score in the top of the seventh on Kurt Haycook’s RBI double.

But Ricky Parsons singled and stole second in the bottom of the seventh and scored the winning run on a single by Austin.

Afton (3-6, 2-4) play at Walton on Monday.
