Oneonta High graduates hurt O-State in softball

Cazenovia 15, Cobleskill 8

Tom Faraone finished with three goals and an assist, but Cobleskill lost a North Eastern Athletic Conference road game Saturday.

Rob Neubert contributed two goals and two assists for the Fighting Tigers (2-8, 0-6), whose skid hit eight losses in a row.

The Wildcats (4-6, 2-3) forced 24 turnovers.

Cobleskill closes its season against visiting Wells College this Saturday.

Delhi splits

David Fernandes and James Massett scored two goals apiece Sunday, leading SUNY Delhi to a 10-8 victory over host Finger Lakes Community College in the Mountain Valley Conference.

Dan Caliendo's unassisted goal 1:31 into the fourth quarter gave the Broncos a 10-4 lead.

Delhi, which is ranked fifth in the NJCAA, finished the regular season with a program-best 11-3 record.

On Friday, Delhi lost a non-conference game, 11-9, to Dean College. Brendan Caoli scored three goals and Jordan Owen scored twice for the Broncos, who will host Finger Lakes at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the opening round of the Region III Tournament.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Geneseo 18, O-State 11

Kiera McNally scored three goals for Oneonta State, which dropped a SUNYAC game at home Saturday.

Nicole Boylan and Jillian Donodeo contributed two goals apiece for the Red Dragons (8-7, 3-4), who fell into a 13-4 hole at halftime.

Meredith Weber's six goals paced Geneseo (9-4, 3-3).

Oneonta will play its final home game of the regular season at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Scranton.

Fisher 20, Hartwick 3

Kia Ference had two goals and an assist for host Hartwick (4-10, 1-5), which lost an Empire 8 game Saturday to defending conference champion St. John Fisher (11-3, 5-1).

Emily Jweid also scored for the Hawks, who close their season at 13th-ranked Ithaca this Saturday.

GOLF

Palamountain Invitational

James Partridge shot rounds of 74 and 72 to earn medalist honors and lead SUNY Delhi to the team title in the nine-team Palamountain Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at the par-72 Highland Park Golf Club in Skidmore.
