O-State baseball falls at home to Ithaca

Kayla Shaw doubled and drove in a run for the Fighting Tigers (13-13), who will travel to SUNYIT at 3 p.m. today for a North Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

Scranton 16, O-State 12Nicole Boylan had three goals, and Caroline Tully, Chelsea Collins and Kiera McNally had two goals apiece for O-State, which lost at home in a non-conference game.

Goals by Boylan, Collins and Tully to start the second cut the Red Dragons’ deficit to 11-9. When Nikki Fioretti scored, Oneonta pulled to 12-10, but that’s as close as it would get.

Deanna Giorno had six goals for Scranton (8-5).

The Red Dragons (8-8) will travel to Oswego at 1 p.m. Saturday to finish their regular season. The winner will earn the fifth and final spot for the SUNY Athletic Conference tournament.

GOLF

Elmira Spring InvitationalFreshman Eric Kim and junior Travis Deuel shot 83 and 84, respectively, to lead SUNY Cobleskill to a fourth-place finish in the seven-team Elmira Spring Invitational at the par-72 Elmira Country Club.

Kim finished tied for third in the 35-player field. Deuel was tied for fifth.

The Fighting Tigers will compete in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Penn State Harrisburg on Friday and Saturday at the Dauphin Highlands Golf Club.
