Oneonta holds off Norwich in baseball

(Continued)

Zach Mudge hit a three-run homer to left in the fifth inning to give Hunter-Tannersville a 5-2 lead. What happened next caught the eye of Hunter-Tannersville coach Ryan Funck.

Funck said Margaretville retrieved the ball. It came back to Short, who walked over to H-T’s dugout, handed the ball to Mudge and said, “good hit.”

“I thought that was a class act,” Funck said.

The Blue Devils scored seven runs in the sixth inning with only one hit.

Mitch Hull went 3-for-3, including a sacrifice fly ball and two RBIs for the Blue Devils.

Margaretville (3-3, 3-1) will face South Kortright in a non-league game at home on Thursday.
