Davenport pitcher throws perfect game

Erin Mushtare drove in the first Oneonta run in the first inning with a single to center that scored Hayley Dower, who had reached on a double. Mushtare had two hits, two RBIs and scored once, and Dower also had two hits for Oneonta (4-1, 4-1).

Baker and Cami Cleaveland amassed three hits apiece for the Yellowjackets, who finished with 14 hits.

Cleaveland scored twice and drove in two runs. Baker had one run and one RBI.

Shelby Cleaveland contributed a triple for the Jackets, who will host Chenango Valley today.

Margaretville 10, H-T 9

Rachel Mathiesen struck out four and earned the win for visiting Margaretville in the Delaware League.

Margaretville jumped out to an early lead, scoring four runs in the first inning on four walks and two singles.

Hunter-Tannersville (0-6, 0-4), down six runs, closed its deficit to 8-5 when Taylor Firmalino hit a three-run triple in the fifth inning.

Margaretville held off the charge, scoring insurance runs in the sixth and seventh, the latter coming on a wild pitch.

H-T will play at Davenport on Friday.

Gilboa 18, Roxbury 1

Allison McGuire threw a five-inning three-hitter to lead host Gilboa in the Delaware League.

McGuire struck out six and walked none.

Jana Traver had two hits for the Wildcats (5-0, 3-0), including a triple. She finished with two runs and two RBIs.

Gilboa will face Davenport on the road Thursday.
