David Wright went 3-for-3 with an RBI, but Oneonta Post 259 lost an eight-inning game to host Endicott Post 82 at Union-Endicott High.

Zach Kollar gave Endicott a walkoff victory with a one-out, RBI single in the bottom of the eighth. His winning hit followed a leadoff walk issued by losing pitcher Matt Bitzer, who struck out three, walked two and allowed three hits in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

“Bitzer came in with runners at first and second and none out in the fourth inning and he retired the side in order,” Oneonta coach Mike Jester said. “He kept us in the game and got some big outs in the sixth and seventh innings. I’m starting to like the way he performs on the mound.”

Bitzer (2-2) took over for starting pitcher Zach Pidgeon, who left with the score tied at 5.

Ben Moxley had two hits and two runs for the Green Wave (9-6), who got two hits and an RBI from Mark Giallanzo but suffered their first loss against a District Six opponent. Defending champion Oneonta fell to 4-1 while Endicott improved to 5-0 in District Six play.

Giallanzo and Collin Neer doubled for Post 259, which hosts Endicott at 6 p.m. Thursday at Oneonta High.
