Walton's Gleason 74th in Boston

Walton resident Scott Gleason ran a personal-best time in placing 74th in Monday's Boston Marathon.

Gleason, 28, completed the 26.2-mile course in 2 hours, 28 minutes, 12 seconds. He averaged 5:39 per mile and took more than 12 minutes off his previous best time in a marathon, which came in last fall's New York City Marathon (2:40.42).

More than 36,000 runners participated Monday.

Hurricanes dinner is today

The Oneonta Hurricanes baseball team will host a spaghetti dinner and raffle fundraiser from 6-8 p.m. today at the 6th Ward Athletic Club in Oneonta.

Raffle items include an autographed Derek Jeter photo, four tickets to a New York Yankees game, an autographed baseball bat, a photo and baseball autographed by Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Jason Grilli and an Oneonta Outlaws gift package.

Tickets cost $8 for adults (children 5-and-under are free) and are available in advance and at the door. Carry-out dinners also are available.

Trap shoot set for Sunday
