Youth golf clinics start May 18

The new Greater Oneonta Junior Golf Association will host Sunday golf clinics for boys and girls ages 5-13 starting at 3 p.m. May 18 at the Oneonta Country Club.

PGA Golf Professionals Kevin Burnsworth (Dick’s Sporting Goods) and Matt Schulte (Oneonta Country Club) will conduct the clinics, which will run five straight Sundays.

Cost is $50 per child for all five Sundays and includes PGA Golf instruction, playing time on the golf course each week, golf shirt, bag tag and closing picnic. Participants also will play specific holes each week based on their abilities. All children will learn proper etiquette and ball-striking.

The program includes discounted golf rounds for parents and their children after the clinics. Registration is limited to the first 50 children who sign up by May 2. Payment is required with each reservation.

Trapper training course May 18

The Davenport Center VFW will host a New York State Trapper Training Course from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. May 18.

Class size is limited to 25 students. To register or for more information, call Gary at 607-432-9266 during evening hours.

Riverside 5K set for May 18

The 11th annual Riverside Elementary 5K Run will take place May 18.

Registration forms are available online at www.oneontacsd.org, at Riverside Elementary School and by emailing bzeh@oneontacsd.org.

Pre-registration deadline is May 3.

Hartwick to hold swim lessons

Hartwick College will offer swimming lessons at Moyer Pool through May 18. Lessons are available afternoons and evenings from Mondays through Thursdays and Sundays.
