Sidney nips Bainbridge-Guilford in MAC baseball; UV edges Greene

Clark had an RBI single in the first inning to open the scoring for the Panthers (6-0, 5-0). The first of his two home runs was a two-run shot in the second. He also hit a leadoff HR in the third.

Clayton Lyon struck out six and went 3-for-4 at the plate. Teammate Brian Head contributed two hits.

Thomas Worobey struck out eight and walked three for Richfield Springs, which received doubles from Jon Boss and Carson Hula.

Edmeston travels to Morris on Saturday.

Schenevus 4, Franklin 3

Billy Davis and Derek Beers contributed RBI singles in the first inning, but the Purple Devils committed three errors in the fourth en route to a Tri-Valley League loss.

Joe Serrao hit an RBI single in the second for Franklin (1-4, 1-4), which got 11 strikeouts from Joe Terrano.

Zach Schallert earned the pitching victory in relief for the Dragons, who scored all of their runs in the fourth inning.

Franklin visits Worcester on Monday.

Margaretville 7, SK 5

Kyle Short hit a three-run triple and later scored in the fourth inning to lead host Margaretville to a Delaware League win at home.

Short also got the save in relief of Matt VanValkenburg, who left with two runners on base and two out in the seventh. Short walked his first batter to load the bases but struck out his second to end it.

VanValkenburg struck out 10 and walked one in a seven-hitter for the Blue Devils (4-1, 2-1), who got two runs from Eric Mathiesen.

Dan Lutz went 2-for-4 with two RBIs to pace the Rams, who got a combined seven-hitter from Tom Newman and Ed Newman.

Margaretville visits Davenport on Monday.

Stamford 14, Jefferson 2

Winning pitcher Gregg Mattice struck out eight in a four-hitter and went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to lead host Stamford to a victory in the Delaware League.
