Hartwick to hold swim lessons

Hartwick College will offer swimming lessons at Moyer Pool through May 18. Lessons are available afternoons and evenings from Mondays through Thursdays and Sundays.

Cost is $15 per 30-minute lesson. All proceeds support the Hartwick swimming and diving program and benefit its annual winter training trip.

BASE Race set for May 24

The National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown will host the third annual BASE Race on May 24 as part of Hall of Fame Classic Weekend.

The charity runs begin with a competitive 10-kilometer race at 8 a.m., followed by a 5K fun run at 8:15 a.m. Both will start and end at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. Former major league players will be a part of the race activities.

Pre-registration costs $25 per person or $50 for families and includes a T-shirt (first 300 to register), a goodie bag, a general admission ticket to the Classic and an admission ticket to the Hall that is valid May 24.

Race-day registration is $40 per person and $65 for families. Proceeds support the Hall’s “Be A Superior Example” program, which promotes healthy lifestyle choices for people of all ages.

HOF Classic tickets on sale

Tickets for the sixth Baseball Hall of Fame Classic are on sale.

Six National Baseball Hall of Famers and more than two dozen former major leaguers will take part in the seven-inning exhibition game, which is slated for May 24 at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown.

The day will open with the Cooperstown Main Street Game Day Parade at noon, followed by a pre-game hitting contest at 1 p.m. First pitch is slated for 2:05 p.m.
