O-State softball routs Cortland to reach NCAAs


Ridley and Jelic finished 1-2 in the long jump. Ridley covered 17-2.75 and Jelic went 15-4.75.

Ridley and Jelic also ran legs on the Broncos’ winning 400 and 1,600 relays. In the 400 relay, Oboseoye Ojeaga and Woodlyn Dorismond joined Ridley and Jelic on a squad that finished in 52.04.

The 1,600 relay, which crossed in 4:21.39, included Kelsey Esselman and Walton graduate Jesse Jacob.

Unatego graduate Michaela Reynolds contributed a victory in the high jump. She cleared 4-10.25.

NYSCTC Championships

Freshmen Evan Quinones and Artneil Reid won titles Saturday in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference Championships at St. John Fisher.

Quinones won the 800 in 1:53.76 to qualify for the ECAC meet. Reid won the triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying distance of 47-5.

Junior Javante Coley placed third in the 400 (49.57) and fourth in the 200 (22.63).

The Fighting Tigers finished ninth out of 13 teams with 42 points.

Cobleskill’s women finished 12th with nine points. Freshman Dana Husband placed third in the high jump, clearing 5-2.25.

Cobleskill will travel to Oneonta State’s May Meet on Saturday.
