HR in seventh lifts Davenport over Edmeston

Gregg Mattice went 2-for-4 with an RBI and struck out 12 in a six-hitter for Stamford.

Smith finished with two hits and had five strikeouts over six innings on the mound.

Gilboa (8-2) will travel to Davenport today.

Milford 7, Worcester 2

Paul Van Warner had 10 strikeouts, and contributed three hits and three runs to lead host Milford to a victory in the Tri-Valley League.

Austin Brown hit a two-run single and Wyatt Waters had an RBI single in the fifth as Milford scored four runs to take a 6-1 lead. Brown finished with two hits and two runs for the Wildcats.

Steve Griffith struck out five and walked two for Worcester.

Milford (8-1, 8-1), visits Cooperstown on Tuesday.

B-G 22, Delhi 5

Zach Ouimet and Sean Jones each contributed two-run singles in the third inning as host Bainbridge-Guilford cruised to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory.

Also in the third, Mark Cordner and Bailey Green hit RBI singles to give B-G a 9-4 advantage.

Bainbridge-Guilford (6-5, 5-5) will visit Walton on Tuesday.

Deposit 7, Afton 4

Austin Ticknor went 2-for-4, but visiting Afton lost in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

‘‘Deposit had key hits in the fifth,’’ Afton coach Ron Rapp said of the Lumberjacks, who scored two runs on four hits in the fifth to take a 7-3 lead.

Deposit’s Trevor Dailey struck out four in a five-hitter.

Walton 7, Afton 6

Steven Klein and Jared Beach each had doubles in the fourth inning to lead visiting Walton to a Midstate Athletic Conference win.

Klein hit a two-run double and Beach had an RBI double as Walton took a 7-4 lead.

Conor Graven-Briggs and Joseph DeVona hit RBI singles in the sixth for Afton (4-9, 3-6), which will visit Unadilla Valley today.

Sidney 13, Oxford 2

Patrick Vibbard and Noah McKee hit two-run singles in the sixth inning to lead visiting Sidney to a Midstate Athletic Conference victory.
