Jon Gorshack walked four and Sidney committed three errors during a seven-run first inning that lifted host Norwich to a non-league victory.
‘‘It was our worst inning defensively this year,’’ Sidney coach Kyle Vibbard said.
Noah McKee hit a two-run, and teammates Kyle McMillan and Jon Gorshack had RBI singles as Sidney scored six times in the fourth inning.
The Warriors left runners on second and third in the seventh inning.
Hancock 12, Walton 5
Ryan Fairchild had two hits and an RBI, but visiting Walton fell in a Midstate Athletic Conference game played at Afton.
Fairchild hit a RBI single in the fifth as the Warriors scored two runs in the inning.
Hancock’s Eli Holton contributed two hits, including a two-run triple in the fourth inning. Ryan Smith and Ryan Tooley had two doubles apiece for the Wildcats (11-3, 8-2), who will hosts Sidney today.
Laurens 14, Morris 0
Mitchell Barra struck out 11 in a four-hitter and went 3-for-4, including a three-run home run in the third inning, to lead visiting Laurens in the Tri-Valley League on Friday.
Logan Barra and Jarett Benjamin hit doubles, and Jerry Soucia had a triple for Laurens, which finished with 15 hits.
Morris received doubles from Ryan Morlock and Robert Child, as well as a triple from Nick Grant-Hill.

Winning pitcher Jessica Hadlock hit a two-run single, and Lindsey Laing and Claire Fraser had RBI singles during a six-run fifth inning that lifted Laurens to a first-round victory in the Milford Booster Club Tournament.
Laurens led, 3-2, heading into the bottom of the fifth ining.
Hadlock went 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, and Kayla Johnson doubled and scored four runs for the Leopards, who turned a triple play in the sixth inning.
