OHS baseball shut out by Saints; Sidney tops Hancock, 9-5

Tanner Winchester went 3-for-3 and Ethan Barber hit a two-run single as the Spartans rallied for three runs in the sixth inning.

Unatego (9-6, 7-3) will hosts Unadilla Valley today.

UV 9, Afton 4

Nate Shackleton and Dakota Kolvik had two hits apiece to lead visiting Unadilla Valley to a victory in the Midstate Athletic Conference.

Brendan Brooker struck out five in a five-hitter for Unadilla Valley (7-5, 4-5), which will visit Unatego today.

Josh Austin contributed two hits for Afton.

WCV 9, Cooperstown 2

Winning pitcher Josh Sudakow doubled twice and drove in two runs to lead visiting West Canada Valley to a Center State Conference Division II victory at Doubleday Field.

Alex Williams went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for WCV, which scored five times in the fifth to take an 8-2 lead.

Reilly Hall, Zach France and Scott Curtis doubled for Cooperstown (1-7, 1-5), which hosts Milford at 4:30 p.m. today back at Doubleday Field. Today’s non-league game will be known as the first Bud Fowler Tournament, which will expand to four teams next season, Cooperstown coach Frank Miosek said.

Edmeston 16, Laurens 1

Consecutive doubles by Lucas Miller, Mike Clark and Kyle King sparked an eight-run third inning that lifted host Edmeston to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Miller’s double scored two runs and gave the Panthers a 2-1 lead. Clark and King followed with RBI doubles. Miller finished 2-for-2, and Clark, King, Clayton Lyon and Josh Nicolosi had two hits apiece for Edmeston.

Clark struck out 10 and walked none in a three-hitter. The game was shortened to five innings because of the 15-run mercy rule.

Mitchell Barra homered to right-center in the first inning for Laurens.

Edmeston (10-1, 10-0) will host Worcester today.

Schenevus 9, CV-S 5

Robert Burton hit a two-run single and Tyler Comino had a two-run double during a five-run first inning that helped visiting Schenevus to victory in the Tri-Valley League.
