The defending New York Collegiate Baseball League champion Oneonta Outlaws are 0-for-2 against the rain this season.
For the second straight night, the Outlaws were rained out — this time against against the host Cortland Crush on Tuesday.
Unlike the Outlaws’ scheduled NYCBL opener Monday at the Geneva Red Wings, the Outlaws-Crush game never got started. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader this coming Monday at Cortland. The teams will play two seven-inning games, beginning at 5 p.m.
Oneonta scored twice in the first inning Monday against Geneva before that game was suspended because of rain. That game will be completed June 30 as a nine-inning game before the Outlaws and Red Wings play their regularly scheduled game, which is now scheduled for seven innings.
The Outlaws — still 0-0 on the season — have an off day today before traveling to play the Sherrill Silversmiths at 5 p.m. Thursday. Oneonta will play its home-opener at 7 p.m. Friday against the Silversmiths at Damaschke Field.
