The Tri Valley Colts will host a parent-child golf tournament beginning with an 8 a.m shotgun start Saturday at the Colonial Ridge Golf Course in Laurens.

Cost to enter the captain-and-mate tournament is $50 per U-14 team and $60 per 15-and-over team. Greens fees and cart cost extra. Youths ages 12 and under play and ride for free.

Prize money, skins, pin shots and barbecue lunch are included.

Eligible pairings include parent and child, grandparent and grandchild, parent in-law and child in-law, and aunt/uncle and nephew/niece.

Hall to host blood drive Saturday

The National Baseball Hall of Fame will host a blood drive sponsored by the American Red Cross in conjunction with Bassett Healthcare from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Cooper Park, adjacent to the Hall in a Red Cross bloodmobile.

Donors will receive free admission into the Hall of Fame on Saturday. Those who haven’t donated blood within the last 56 days are eligible.

The Hall is open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

Football sign-ups Saturday

Oneonta Youth Football will hold sign-ups from 9-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oneonta Little League’s Doc Knapp Field.

Players must be age 8 by Dec. 1 and cannot turn 13 before Sept. 1. Seventh-graders are not eligible.

Players must bring a copy of their birth certificates and a $25 registration fee to sign-ups.

Practices will begin at the end of August. Games will be played in September and October.

Covered Bridge Run is Saturday

The 19th annual Delhi Covered Bridge Run is set for 9 a.m. Saturday. The event features a 10-kilometer run, a 5K run and a 5K health walk.

Entry forms are online at www.clasiladies.com/delhi-covered-bridge-run.html. Entry fee is $20 for those who sign up online and $25 at the race.
