Outlaws rally for 10-3 rout at home

Mauseth and Fickas contributed RBI singles, and Mauseth later stole home to capped the scoring.

Oneonta starter Jeremy Roberts (Stonehill College) earned the pitching victory despite falling into a 3-0 hole after two innings. He struck out three, walked one and gave up three runs on six hits in seven innings.

J.T. Genovese (University at Albany) struck out one in a 1-2-3 eighth inning before Jason Drummond (Grand Canyon University) faced four batters in the ninth to secure the victory for Oneonta (2-0). Although Drummond allowed one hit, he struck out the side.

Fickas’ three RBIs paced the Outlaws, who drew 1,791 fans to their home opener.

Oneonta will host Sherrill at 7 p.m. Saturday, then visit the Syracuse JR Chiefs at 7 p.m. Sunday and play a doubleheader at the Cortland Crush at 5 p.m. Monday.

Admission to Saturday’s game will be free courtesy the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association. Fireworks will follow Saturday’s game.
