Mike Moran struck out in the 10th frame in all three games to lead Oneonta High’s boys to a 5-0 Southern Tier Athletic Conference bowling victory over Johnson City.
“Mike had to strike out each time for us to win the game,” OHS coach Pat Muller said of Moran, whose 623 series included a 239 game. “That’s the first time I’ve seen that.”
OHS (2-1) won the first game by five pins, the second by six pins and the last by 18.
Oneonta’s girls also won, 5-0. Caryn Balnis had games of 218 and 205 in a 620 series. It marks the second time this season Balnis has rolled a 620 or better series.
Emily Loucks, Abigail Loucks and Cami Cleaveland contributed games of 191, 182 and 180, respectively, for the Yellowjackets (3-0), who’ll host Windsor on Monday.
