S-E 57, UV 48

Amanda Off and Jordan Anderson scored 19 points apiece, but Unadilla Valley lost in the championship game of the Sherburne-Earlville Tournament.

“They just wore us down in the fourth quarter,” UV coach Brandi Backus said. “We didn’t do anything.”

UV lost Taylor Davis and Hannah Lazarus in the second quarter, after the teammates collided.

“They bumped heads and both had to leave and get stitches,” Backus said. “It was definitely a difference-maker. (Davis) had a huge night for us in the first round, and she took out Hannah, too. So there went both of our post players. We were definitely down some players.”

Tournament MVP Jordan Van Althuis scored 18 points to lead S-E, which placed Mikayla Solloway on the all-tournament team.

Davis and Anderson made the all-tournament team for UV (1-1), which hosts Delhi on Friday.
