Edmeston 9, RS 1

Catherine Johnson struck out 14 and walked four in a two-hitter, leading visiting Edmeston to a Tri-Valley League victory.

Johnson also had two hits and an RBI single that sparked a four-run seventh for the Panthers, who snapped a 1-all tie with a four-run sixth. The Indians committed seven of their eight errors in the last two innings.

Richfield Springs’ Madisyn Butler tied the score at 1 in the fourth. She walked, stole second and third, then scored on a passed ball.

The Indians (4-2, 4-2) host the Richfield Springs Sports Boosters Tournament on Friday and Saturday. RS will host Fort Plain in the opener at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Remsen and St. Johnsville will play the other first-round game at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The consolation game starts at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the championship game at 3:30 p.m.

Admission will be charged Saturday. Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children.

Worcester 7, Schenevus 3

Batterymates Monica Ridgeway and Summer Rutty combined for seven hits as Worcester won at home in the Tri-Valley League.

Winning pitcher Ridgeway had three hits and scored a run. Ruddy finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs.

Michaela Wright contributed a pair of hits and two RBIs for the Wolverines, who host Morris Wednesday.

Jennifer Walke tripled for the Dragons, who received a double from losing pitcher Taylor Spranger.
