Cring no-hits Westmoreland again

Maddie Archer scored a run and singled twice for Cherry-Valley Springfield (2-6, 0-5), which visits Laurens on Wednesday.

Bridgette Colburn went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs in leading host Morris to a Tri-Valley League victory.

McKenna Hungerford contributed two hits and three RBIs, and Amanda Flint finished two hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs (4-4), who will travel to Worcester on Wednesday.

Clair Fraser went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Leopards.

Host Milford won by forfeit in the Tri-Valley League as Franklin lost two of its nine players to injury by the third inning and couldn’t continue.

Milford (5-0) plays at Gilbertsville-Mount Upton on Wednesday.

Nicole Cring seems to like pitching against Westmoreland -- a lot. On Monday, Cooperstown senior Cring threw her second no-hitter against the Bulldogs in as many seasons, guiding the visiting team to a 10-0 softball victory in the Center State Conference.
