Kelby leads charge as OHS tennis wins at home


Walton 3, Hancock 1

Michael Freeman beat Mark White, 7-5, 6-1, at first singles to lead Walton to a MAC win at home.

Alex Ellerson and Joe Pomeroy contributed a victory at first doubles for the Warriors, who won second doubles by forfeit.

Walton (1-2, 1-1) is at home Wednesday against Sidney.

Will Cadwalder rallied for a 6-7, 6-2, 7-5 win over Oleg Vernich at third singles to help visiting Cooperstown (4-1) to a Center State Conference sweep.

Doubles: Lyman Townsend and Max Ofer def. Keith Marble and Eric DeRosia, 6-2, 6-2; Andrew Von Tsurikov and Max Clinton def. Mark Vernich and Connor Brown, 6-3, 6-2.

Middleburgh 4, Windham 3

Malcolm Seamans defeated Tabo Gruning, 10-8, at first singles, but Windham fell on the road in a non-league match.

The Warriors’ Joe Pelham fell, 10-9 (7-1) to Sean Green at third singles, and Eddie Moran and Kate Exum lost by 9-7 scores at fourth and fifth singles.

Windham (5-2) will host Stamford today.

Doubles: David Saunders and Luke Rasmussen (W). def. Jacob Laraway and Chad Boyles, 9-2; Tori Exum and Katie Pelham (W) def. Matt Duell and Thomas Birsen, 9-2.

Margaretville 7, Davenport 0

James Warner, Dylan Shaffer, Brandon Belaski, Michael Conroy and Yair Sanchez breezed in their singles matches as host Margaretville improved to 7-0 with a Delaware League win.

The Blue Devils are home against Hunter-Tannersville today.
